The Dominic Sena-directed, action-thriller, ‘Whiteout’ flashes the focus on the life of a solitary U.S. marshal, Carrie Stetko, who is on an assignment to the most inhospitable and remote landmass worldwide, the Antarctica .

Just three days prior to Carrie’s planned departure for her home subsequent to being posted for a period of two years at the research headquarters in the South Pole of Antarctica, she is taken aback by a horrid sighting of a cadaver. This gruesome revelation plunges the U.S. Marshal into a whirlwind explorative journey to unearth the reprobate behind Antarctica’s foremost homicide enquiry. But, as she delves deep into the probe, the mystery intensifies with bodies turning up with sickening regularity.

Braced with varying allegiance, fatal whiteouts and an unremitting slaughterer stopping at zilch in order to keep a more than six-decade old, surreptitious secret under wraps, Carrie is struggling for precious time, before the obscurity of the six-month long Antarctica darkness takes over. Stuck thick in trouble, she finds herself trapped with the slayer in a terrain with no perceptible assistance at hand.

Whiteout is an adaptation derived from a succession of lifelike narratives with similar name from Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber. Kate Beckinsale grasps the opportunity to play a toughie, Carrie Stetko alongside the likes of talented line up of Gabriel Macht, Alex O’loughlin and Columbus Short amongst others.
