Pixar with its persistent history of whipping up successful movies which have been in excess of $350 million dollars in projects like Toy Story 1 and 2 and Finding Nemo, will yet again prove its mettle in the sequel Toy Story 3 with an expected release in 2010.
Pixar with its exceptional clout to unite people from all ages, strata and film preferences, surpassing across all demographics, in association with the classic Disney, is bound to dominate the box office with this release which has come nearly after a decade from the previous Toy Story release.
The old voices are back in this befitting sequel with superlative level of magnificence. Michael Keaton, the former Batman, will lend his voice to Barbie’s boyfriend Ken. The voice of Buzz was earlier offered to Billy Crystal, but finally, Tim Allen was selected for the part. Barbie is back for this 3-D Pixar animation seen hugging Ken in one of the shots. With the demise of Jim Varney, who lent his famous voice to the Slink in the earlier Toy Story movies, one can expect a new voice being lent in the forthcoming release.
One can expect the unanticipated entry of a new character, a snugly little pink teddy bear, Lotso, who lies beneath the bed of a child who is engrossed watching Carl’s house sway past her apartment window. With looks appearing deceptive, one needs to keep a watch out how this adorable bear will influence the storyline.
There definitely is no one who could do greater justice to the voice of Woody than Tom Hanks. In this sequel, Andy is shown as a teenager who is going to college. He puts all his toys, including his most prized possession, Woody in a day care. All the toys are extremely upset that Andy left them, especially Jesse with her past experiences with her last owner. How they manage to make their way out from this place is to been seen.
The film’s initial teaser shows Woody with the assistance of his fellow toy mates’ busy making a sign post that reads ‘Toy Story 3’, with Buzz showing him off by adding to the visual effects by lighting up the sign. Woody then adds his version to the sign post. The sights of Buzz, Woody, Slinky and Ham supervising, is truly endearing. One is pleasantly pleased to see the competition still rife between Buzz and Woody which sum up to quite some memorable moments in the movie.
Lee Unkrich, who co-directed with Lasseter, movies like Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. And Toy Story 2, will be the sole controller in this flick with Michael Arndt, of the Little Miss Sunshine fame, writing the screenplay.
