As the pompous rolling out of the prestigious green carpet ensues yet again for the grand spectacle of IIFA 2009 at Macau, gracefully beckoning the who’s who of the filmdom, the eager onlookers could just stay gasped at the close quarter views of their famed heroes.
The prominent photo – ops were those of Abhishek-Aishwarya as they posed gleefully, their second joint appearance in a row since Cannes that just saw the lights last month. Aishwarya was seen mingling with the crowds as she looked ravishing in a black and silver dress. Aishwarya will be seen showing her dancing prowess on the penultimate night in Macau after a long span of four years, where her last memorable performance to the tunes of ‘Kajra Re’ was in Amsterdam 2005.
The Slumdog Millionaire kiddie star brigade made their endearing presence felt at the green carpet with the likes of Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala, Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar and Tanay Chheda, having seen a fare share of stardom that commenced at the Oscars were seen proudly posing for the shutterbugs. The key child characters Azharuddin and Rubina Ali were noticeably absent from the event with Anil Kapoor and the rest of the kiddie camp making up amply for their dearth.
The svelte Sonam Kapoor was seen wearing a multicolored turtle-neck like number. The Raveena Tandom looked ravishing in a royal blue outfit sporting a scorpio tattoo and happily flashing her infectious smile to all. Sushmita Sen was seen sporting an animal print outfit with great élan.
The hunk contingent was in full attendance with the evergreen Kabir Bedi, Dino Morea, Neil Nitin Mukesh. Lara Dutta was seen looking pretty in short crop hair and shimmering black number sans Dino. Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra and David Dhavan were also seen on the carpet.
Many bore witness to the enthralling performances of Zaia at the Cirque du Soleil that was on schedule past the Green carpet entry. Amazing acrobatic movements highlighting dance and fluid movements that depicts the self-revelatory reverie of a young girl as she spans into space is the spirit of Zaia, with close to 80 artists par-excellence did justice to the act.
