Talented A.R.Rahman’s winning spree continues, as he garners more bobs with the announcement of the nominations of the 9th World Soundtrack Awards. With the look of things, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has not yet done with garnering accolades.
With an impressive arrays of awards in its kitty that include 8 Oscars and 4 Golden Globes, the Danny Boyle-helmed film is presently, potently aiming for more chunk of fame as the World Soundtrack Academy declared on 18th August that it was amongst the contenders for the ninth World Soundtrack Awards.
The movie has been nominated in three categories, one being the Best Original Score of the Year and the remaining two are for a singular category of Best Original Song penned unswervingly for a film.
Though it garners the maximum number of bobs for the awards organised yearly in Ghent, Belgium, yet ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fails to put A.R. Rahman on the listing for ‘Film Composer of the Year’ award.
The 2009 World Soundtrack Awards function identifies art of cinematic music. The winners would be declared during the concluding ceremony of the 2009 Ghent International Film Festival to be held on 17th October featuring top performances from Alexandre Desplat and Marvin Hamlisch, the duo composers who are set to receive the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award.
