Although Rihanna is not set to belt out any performances, she definitely would yet be attending the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards to be held on 31st January. The talented ‘Umbrella’ songster prefers to go alone to the grand event and not along with the baseball player Matt Kemp with whom she has been frequently been seen having some quality, comforting moments.
The Barbadian singer on being interviewed on radio channel 104.3 MY FM, Los Angeles stated that she would be there for the Grammy awards but on her own. She further said retrospectively that even when she was in a relationship earlier, she always have gone alone to the Awards function.
Rihanna was quick at proclaiming her singleton status when she sensed the imminent query. When asked how her recent visit to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico has transpired along with Matt Kemp, she did tend to get demure about it. In her succinct statement all she mentioned about the trip was she had a blast of a time.
Rihanna’s nomination for ‘Best Rap/Sung Collaboration’ on her track which she has jointly sung alongside Jay-Z and Kanye West in ‘Run This Town’. She spoke excitedly about how the track is really the foremost piece of music they have worked together since the preceding Grammy Awards. Rihanna appeared quite impatient and hopeful on bringing home the ‘bacon’ as she fondly dubbed the award. However, she also mentioned that even being nominated was a privilege in case they did not win.
Last year, Rihanna was compelled to call off her performance at the event following her squabble with then boyfriend Chris Brown leading to a mucky breakup between them.
