Screenwriter of Pulp fiction Roger Avary has been sentenced to jail for one year after killing a newlywed Italian human being in a drunken driving crash in California last year. Oscar winning writer appealed guilty in August to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and other charges curtailing from January 2008.
Andreas Zini was killed in the accident, which happened last year, and Avery’s wife injured. Roger Avary urged to the judge in the courtroom that this incident had overwhelmingly changed me from the core of my self-being. This accident happened in the city of Ojai, 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Judge Edward Brodie of Ventura County Superior court also sentenced Avary to five years of probation. Before sentencing, it was revealed in the courtroom that writer had separately settled a civil action filed by Zini’s family of $4.1 million. As per the investigation, the accident occurred when Avary along with his wife and Zini were driving towards home from a restaurant when he crashed his Mercedes into a telephone pole at the speed of more than 100 miles per hour. Zini 34 years old was enjoying his honeymoon fortunately Zini’s wife Maria was in a different car. Avary screenwriter for Pulp Fiction won the screenplay Oscar at the Academy Awards in 1995.
