The Queen of Pop, Madonna kick started her ‘Sweet and Sticky’ Tour at the O2 Arena, London on 4th July, which will followed by the Madonna Manchester Concert to be held at the MEN Arena on 7th July. Madonna’s UK Concerts are being sustained by the megastar DJ Paul Oakenfold.
During Madonna’s concert, a gargantuan portrait of infant Jackson leered over the audience as a petite dance song was performed to commemorate the pop star, Michael Jackson. A member of Madonna’s dance troupe did a Jackson impersonation, bedecked in signature Jackson black hat, moon walking over the stage as the 17,000 crowds went into a frenzy as Madonna synched to the impressionist’s typical Jackson moves.
Jackson’s zenith hits, Wanna Be Startin and Billie Jean were performed in mini editions, as Madonna decreed to the audiences how Jackson was among the greatest performers to ever grace the Earth.
In the finale dance performance, Madonna along with her dance troupe put on trademark Jackson sparkler gloves as a mark of homage to the King of Pop with the back stage popping up sayings from Michael’s song ‘Man In The Mirror’.
Madonna, who was a good friend of Jackson, was reported to say in an interview to The Sun about how much fun she had working with him and the great camaraderie they shared, wherein she enjoyed taking regular digs on him.
Coincidently, O2 Arena was the location where Jackson was slated for a comeback, with nearly 50 concerts scheduled in the said arena in mid-July.
