Alicia de Larrocha considered to the best Spanish pianist, was earlier a child genius has died from cardio respiratory failure at the age of 86 in Barcelona’s Quiron Hospital. Renowned pianist who was less than five feet tall was always admired for her technique and judgment of tempo in music.

Alicia de Larrocha began playing the piano at the age of two, gave her first performance at the age of six, at the age of 11 made her orchestral debut performing as a soloist for the Madrid Symphony Orchestra. De Larrocha stopped performing six year back in 2003 after 75 years of public performances of around 4,000 concerts at the age of 80. All throughout 75 years she was rewarded abundant awards counting the Prince of Asturias Prize in 1994, Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in Paris in 1998, the Paderewski Memorial Medal, as well as four Grammy Awards. De Larrocha was always famous for her interpretation performances including works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Frederic Chopin and other Spanish Composers. She was considered as matchless in her explanation and analyzing the works of of Issac Albeniz and Enrique Granados. Once she had uttered in an interview Spanish music is very, very, very… hard. She added saying young people think and come to her in a mindset they can play in a right way however, Spanish music must have right rhythm just as Bach and Mozart. De Larrocha married to late pianist Juan Torra and has two children.
