With the much anticipated, highly viewed, decade-old prestigious IIFA awards 2009 draws close, one can already see the line up of a bevy of stars. The ravishing duo, Sophie Choudhary and Zayed Khan are slated to host the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza which will be held on the second day of IIFA, being held in The Venetian, Macau between 11-13 June 2009, which has its other branch in Las Vegas, is a renovated exotic property designed on the lines of Venice with spectacular mock-ups of several Venetian attractions.
The sensational IIFA Fashion Extravaganza will showcase Indian and Chinese designer fraternity putting their best foot forward with an amazing line up of ultra-sheek, ultra-feminine, high-power, at-par fashion lines. The proceeds from this event will go to an aid organization set up by IIFA with the sole purpose of lending effectual backing to the kin of the film industry workers, faced with dire situations that unexpectedly crop up during film production.
Top-notch designers of the likes of Anamika Khanna, Rocky S, Manav Gangwani, Farah Ali Khan and Chris Chang, a Hong Kong based designer will display their fabulous line. The show-stealers will be the famous real-life couple Hrithik-Suzanne Khan, where Hrithik, would be looking smouldering hot, carrying off an exquisite diamond jewellery designed by his sis-in-law, Farah Ali Khan. Also seen bracing the ramp will be the vivacious Sonam Kapoor sporting Anamika Khanna clothes line. The Bong damsel Bipasha Basu would be seen blazing the ramp in a Rocky S and Anamika Khanna outfit. One can expect sizzling performance by the singing star, Peter Andre in the Fashion Extravaganza.
The sole Indian to bring the prestigious Oscar home, A.R.Rehman and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are slated to receive the special ‘IDEA IIFA Award for Outstanding Contribution by Indian in International Cinema’.
One can expect scintillating performances of the lovely-dovey duo Shahid-Priyanka Chopra who will do a number from their upcoming film ‘Kaminay’. Anushka Sharma is set to stage on fire will her classical prowess. Ranbir Kapoor was offered an absurd sum of money to perform for IIFA, put off the offer citing reasons of not yet being ready to face live audience yet. The debutant duo of Jackky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani and the lead lady Vaishali Desai are set to perform to the tunes of their upcoming movie ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’.
There were strong rumours that Salman Khan might be performing at the upcoming IIFA alongside Prabhu Deva, who is the director of his latest movie ‘Wanted’, much to the discreet queasiness of the Bachchan kin. With a whooping 500 some celebs expected to be present for IIFA, will Shah Rukh and Aamir be attending the function this year, is something to be looked out for.
