Ice age 3 : Dawn of the Dinosaurs, a 3-D production with an impressive line of director Carlos Saldanha, who earlier directed the last Ice Age movie, and Academy Award winner, BlueSky Studios producing it, sees the comeback of the frozen era leading actors in a befitting sequel to the popularly acclaimed Ice Age animated movie series.
The adorable Scrat- a Leptictidium, is seen endeavouring yet again to protect his prized possession, an acorn. One can definitely expect loads of histrionics from this wild creature. In his never-ending quest for his beloved acorn, Scrat comes across Scratte, a female buck-toothed squirrel and at once sparks fly between the two, with the two seeming like perfect lovely-dovey duo. The love-bug bitten Scrat will have overcome a few impediments and an acorn in his journey to get the love of his life.
Meanwhile the apprehensive father-to-be, Manny, the Mammoth and the gleeful Ellie, now a happily together couple, are anxiously anticipating a cuddly little baby mammoth on its way. Meanwhile, Diego, the wide-toothed tiger seems to ponder over whether he’s lost his sharpness as a carnivore due to constantly being around soft chums.
Sid, the Sloth is suddenly flushed with feelings to have kin of his own. Sid, in his crazed obsession to start a family, gets his hands on some dinosaur eggs, which land him in deep trouble. He lands up in a bizarre underground world bursting with chasing dinosaurs and perils from all corners.
With the daunting task of salvaging their dear pal, Sid, the group undertake a trip into the eerie underground world, scuffling serious hurdles of inhospitable surroundings and skirmishing dinosaurs, their possible hope, a chanced meeting with an inexorable, single-eyed, dino-munching weasel called Buck. Their adventurous journey through this dazed world of menacing reptiles and how they make their way through these uncertainties is to be best enjoyed on big screen with 3-D effect.
