Over the weekend Sun Life Stadium, Maimi bore witness to enthralling performances by several talented artists. Taking to the stage Carrie Underwood gave a live performance of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ in front of a sea of onlookers of Super Bowl XLIV. Donning a white outfit, Underwood performed prior to the game between teams Colts and Saints flagging off. Fireworks light the sky on conclusion of Underwood’s set.
Though not the foremost instance when she has belted out her version of the National Anthem, Underwood acknowledged to have been jittery about her performance on 7th February, Sunday, dreading that she might muddle up the words despite having sung it on umpteen occasions.
Queen Latifah in a gray coat also performed live her version of ‘America the Beautiful’ with a kids choir who backed her up.
Another star who entertained the baseball fans was Jay-Z performing his hit single viewed on wide screen belting out ‘Run This Town’ alongside Rihanna’s voice that had been recorded. Proudly clutching the golden Super Bowl trophy, the rapper was shepherded by Rutgers Symphony Orchestra.
Intermission period of the game show was replete with live performances by ‘The Who’s’ band. Alike those seated within the stadium, spectators outside the site too revelled in the live acts.
