As the eagerly anticipated decade old IIFA kicks off to a shimmering start at Macau with a string of events spanning through the day. The first day of IIFA commenced with a Press conference at 10 in the morning. Thumping gala n’ galore happenings at the pre-event cocktail session are in the offing for the evening. A bevy of stars were seen strutting their stuff on the splendid Green Carpet at 7 onwards in the evening.
Spellbinding performances by The Cirque the Soliel show and The Zaia are said to continue from eight onwards to late in the night, which will be followed by the post event party that will rock till the wee hours in the night.
With a steady streaming in of stars at the Macau airport that includes the likes of Ronit Roy, David Dhavan and his wife, Govinda and fly and Anil Kapoor along with wife Sunita. David Dhavan will be seen unveiling his Govinda starrer flick ‘Do Knot Disturb’ on the first day that is ready for premiering at IIFA. Another surprise entry at Macau was the international singing sensation Peter Andre, who is slated to belt out his famed number ‘Mysterious Girl’ along with a couple of new tracks. During the press meet that started out in the morning, Peter Andre was all praises for Mr. Bachchan complementing him about his intense persona that leaves all amazed.
Amitabh as always, exuding charm, was seen sporting a smart tux at the press meet was all praises for the hospitality offered in Macau, vowing to learn significant Chinese by the end of the event.
Amitabh’s wax figurine in traditional attire that was revealed in the famous Madame Tussauds Museum in May in New York has been flown to the Macau, where it is adorns centre stage at the Green Carpet. The Big B with his son and daughter-in-law happily posed beside the statue giving great photo-op to the shutterbugs. Several celebs, crazed fans and bigwigs couldn’t resist the opportune moment to click Kodak moments with the figurine.
