One is simply enthralled by the tempo and stupor –like vocals by the pop diva, Britney Spears who yet again proves her mettle in this fine album. Though the mysterious, spine-chilling electro foot tapping songs of last year’s ‘Blackout’ were in a superlative plane in comparison to ‘Circus’, her sixth album, Spears has delivered some saucy dawdling jams in genuine studio time.
Circus is a focused solid piece of work which seems to get into your skin with every hearing. The album effectively upholds the magnetism and sheer glam quotient of ‘Gimme More’, with songs that capture the hypnotizing effect of the sleek, wild image of Spears which is bound to be the sell-out point for ‘Circus’.
‘If You Seek Amy’ is a song par excellence with magnificent pop intensity that is bound to set one gyrating to its foot-tapping tunes. Britney’s sensual, soft tone wonderfully depicts the eager, restless and covert mood of the song. Check out the buffoonish, frivolous delivery of lines that aptly showcase the ‘Circus’ spirit. The song’s seemingly infectious nature will leave you humming the infamous profanity before you realize what you’ve been doing.
The ‘Out From Under’ drawn from the Bratz movie soundtrack has a gloomy, simplistic feel where Britney stand outs with her singing prowess. ‘Womanizer’- the lead number has a distinctly captivating feel to it and an instant crowd puller. Britney reveals her ostentatious, raunchy best in ‘Kill the Lights’ song. ‘Unusual You’ delivers some fantastic ambience with electro-dance air.
Worth a listen are the fabulous tracks like ‘Mannequin’, ‘Shattered Glass’ and the master Danja’s spectacular produce ‘Kill the Lights’ which simply steals the show. ‘My Baby’ –a song dedicated to her tots, ‘Lace and Leather’ and ‘MMM Papi’ seem run of the mill tracks. Danja yet again shows his genuine skills in his produced ‘Blur’ that has a bizarre feel to it.
‘Circus’ produced by Max Martin-Dr Luke production team bears quite a lot of semblance to Britney’s past hits which were also produced by the same team. ‘Circus’ is truly Britney’s rise from the ashes, as she delivers wonderful club-bangers and her trademark dear-old Britney pop way.
