Family members describe the death of Boyzone star Stephen Gately as a tragic accident. Gately along with his husband Andrew Cowles went home after partying from Black Cat Disco in Palma was later found dead in the holiday apartment in Port Andratax in Majorca after 1.30 pm on 10 October after spending a night at the couple apartment.
Bulgarian Georgi Petrov was one who actually found pop star lifeless body. He said the singer was white and cold when he found him hours after returning to his £1 million holiday flat from the night out. Andy broke into silence after this tragedy. Andy married Stephen in Las Vegas in 2003 before a civil ceremony. Andy was comforted by friends including other members of Boyzone. Boyzone flew out to Majorca on Sunday night. Choking of his vomit can be cause of death sudden arrhythmic death syndrome appears to be a more likely scenario. Family attributed his death as natural causes and ruled out drugs and suicide. After receiving the post mortem report Gately’s family hopes to fly with his body home for funeral in Dublin. It is suspected Gately died after falling asleep on a sofa. Police said there were no signs of suspicious circumstances. It has been reported that Gately and Cowles returned to their luxury apartment with another man. Gately’s family lawyer said there was no indication of a third person present. He also denied reports on an eight-hour drinking binge and insisted saying Stephen was a sensible man. Huge crowd of fans posted tributes on the singers face book and flowers were left outside the apartment and home he shared with Andy in London.
