US President Barack Obama and his wife have decorated their private room and Oval office with range of modern and abstract art. President Obama seems to have a taste for pieces whether a figure, a landscape, or a simple square it has different aspects and angles. They began selecting various art pictures and drawing before January however, the list of borrowed works has been released and exhibited few days back.
These pieces include contemporary art of Africa, American, and Native American artists on display. Mark Rothko an established artist has also contributed to this art collection. Couple worked with California decorator Michael Smith and White House guardian William Allman to select the works. Mr Allman said the scope of modern work exceeds that hung up previous White House inhabitant. He added saying both of them were clear with their ideas and tastes Michael Smith knew a lot about their tastes. These works and collection add on to extensive permanent White House collection. White House paintings reveal a distinctive and sometimes distinctive taste. This artwork will be hung in private rooms and offices such as Blue Room or State Dining Room it will be approved by Committee for the Preservation of White House. Famous artists such as Jasper Johns and less popular artist Alma Thomas an African- American abstract painter of 1960’s and 1970’s there works are also included. One of the New York art dealer described Obama’s choice of selection as highly supplicated. Curator Harry Copper said there are different styles such as figurative art, abstract art, and modern.
