After helming spectacular films like Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, the German director, Roland Emmerich is back with his current big budget American debacle sci-fi movie 2012. The movie delves into the apocalyptic realm prognosticated by the primeval Long Count calendar that was used by the Mayans.
An exciting adventure that revolves around a global catastrophe that spells doom to the world that has been majorly envisaged by diverse civilizations, faiths, researchers and governments. The movie recounts the valiant struggle of those who survived it.
The movie is set in the year 2012 alongside a setting of astral supposition and Mayan prophesies. John Cusack is portrayed as an ardent conservationist and academic researcher who guides a set of people in a battle to offset the calamitous events that were forecasted by the Mayans. Cusack plays the role of Jackson Curtis, a sci-fi book author who seldom takes on the job of a limo driver. Woody Harrelson dons the role of Charlie Frost who is considered deranged by others due to his forecasts of the end of the world.
Roland Emmerich with his repertoire of great movies in the past and fine art of coming up with superb storylines, has excelled yet again in this movie chock-full with eye-candy sequences based around some vital affable characters who witness the mass mayhem and their struggle to survive it.
